Republic day glory the date on which constitutions of India come in force on January 26,1950 in place of the Government of India Act (1935) .
On 26 November,1949 constitution of India adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly, and came into effect on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system and India becomes independent republic.

- 26th January Celebrated as INDIA Republic day because in 26 January,1930 nation decided for complete freedom know as Purna Swaraj Day.
- Constitution of India is the longest in the world. It has a total of "448 Articles in 22 Parts, 12 Schedules and 97 Amendments” and took around 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to be completed.
- Two copies of the Indian Constitution were hand-written, one in Hindi and other English which is kept safely in the helium-filled cases at the Library of Parliament House.
- 1st Republic Day parade was held in 1955 at Rajpath .
